About This Test
PAPP-A: This test measures PAPP-A levels in maternal blood during early pregnancy to screen for chromosomal abnormalities like Down syndrome (Trisomy 21) and assess placental health. Low levels may indicate risk for fetal growth restriction or preeclampsia. It’s usually done as part of the first-trimester screening panel.
