About This Test
This test detects IgG antibodies against phospholipids, which are vital components of cell membranes. The presence of these antibodies is associated with Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS) — an autoimmune disorder that increases the risk of blood clots, stroke, miscarriage, or pregnancy complications. It is often ordered along with the IgM version to confirm APS and monitor patients with lupus or unexplained clotting problems.
